iUse (Infinity Usage)

I really like this logo because it's clean, simple and different to the Recycle symbol. The others are too much like the recycle symbol and will just be confused as that.

Just because this design is popular due to its simplicity and easy-to-grasp interpretation of the objective, you being the pathetic bitter individual that you are, you deem it to be disqualified. Why don't you submit something and see whether it will get votes anywhere near what this design is getting. Oh, wait, you (or your friend) did and it's in the bottom quartile. LOSER! i agree that the infinity symbol is used quite often, but for me, the original concepts in this design are the two arrows connecting two different cycles. the gray represents the idea of what has already been used or in the past while the blue represents something that is fresh and clean. only by adding freshness and life to the past can you hope to create something that will last forever. if this design can invoke that kind of insight by it's simplicity and elegance, then it is definitely a winner!

No originality here at all. Looks too much like those other logos people have cited. It should be disqualified. Or at least should not have received nearly that many votes for its lack of originality. How many of the people who voted for it are friends or family of yours?

I don't know who you are but you sound bitter. Why assume that the votes are all by this person's family or friends only? Many of those who view this site and take on voting are fellow designers or those who appreciate good design. To claim a disqualification as a response by your simple vain assumption is not very professional, especially the way you say it. Although I agree that everyone has their own opinion and are allowed to express constructive criticism, some things should be kept to one's self and not on a public billboard in such a manner.

I liked it so much that I thought it should win until I saw it's already trademarked. Now I'm hoping the trash can symbol now in second place will win.

Like this logo! The smoothly rendered circular shape convey inclusion, wholeness, focus, unity, infinity and cycle (and of course, "recycle"). Nice work ericchuan.

I have been in the reuse industry for the last eight years in the deconstruction and building material side. I think your design is great and is one of my favorites. You have talked about how your design can be used in a design for reuse context, designing for durability over disposability. How do you feel your design ties into reuse as it pertains to thrift stores or building material reuse stores? Also one of the later successes of the recycling symbol is the resin codes, the numbers that go in the triangle, for further identifying information. Do you see your symbol being able to be adapted like this for the different types of reuse that are out there? thank you for being engaging on your discussion board. Great work!

I love this solution. Not only it depicts the idea of 'recycling' as a whole but visually it works. It is straight-forward, it's intuitive, the colors work, and visually, the two shape speaks to itself creating a dialogue. The green color is redundant but by using a neutral gray and blue create a somewhat modern feeling to it. The unexpected blue and gray tones I think, create a universal soothing experience.Simple is the best and speaks more in my personal opinion.

I like the infinite concept, and I also do like that it's reminiscent of Terracycle and Cradle to Cradle - it's a symbolic concept that clearly resonates with people.

Good try, Heather! You are so persistent! Like I said, there are many similarity in many icons out there. Just because they look similar, it doesn't mean they cannot coexist at the same time.

Violating trademark laws is serious. If this logo wins, it won't be able to be used.

There is no trademark, the other two logos you sited which are very similar are not trademarked or service-marked or even register. You have used multiple account to make all these comments, tcraffa is you too? Bitter, party of one, your table is ready.

Do not be jealous, it's not a cute quality. If I were you, I would look at your own "egg" design and think very hard why and what the problems are. Is it because you are lack of taste? skills? techniques? experience? Instead of looking for other ways to shoot someone down, maybe you should spend your free time to read a book: Design for Dummies, or take a class on how to clean awkward-points in Adobe Illustrator!

I'm not using multiple accounts, pretending to be different people. I'm trying to be realistic and not have a design win that will be disqualified. I am commenting because I care about the outcome., not just about winning for myself. None of you know me but you sure are making a lot of rude assumptions about me. My design is just the way I intended it, too; there are no awkward points. It's fluid and smooth. I was just took the risk of a totally different approach -more ancient and intuitive than logical- so it wouldn't be the same as anything else that was submitted.

Good try! Everything out there looks so similar nowadays... it even looks like the fashion brand Chanel, if you want to draw any similarity! I started to sketch this symbol with the idea of an infinity icon and using this font as my base: http://www.urbanfonts.com/fonts/Danube.htm

This is very simply and looks great, but to me it symbolizes using multiple objects because it's using multiple arrows

Thanks for your comment and complement. The recycle logo has three arrows, my iUse icon has only two. When you put this icon on a let's say a plastic cup, it will be very self explanatory that it is reusable on this particular product.

I really like this design. Simple. The 2 different colors on the different halves of the infinity symbol help show re-use as opposed to something just lasting forever.

I don't have to bother submitting my idea. This is the second submission using the infinity sign. I think it is simple and self explanatory. Maybe to be perfect there should be a way to show the idea to reuse product until the end of life of and then recycled. I think this symbol is suffice.
